Mariposa County Library Offers Free Adult Literacy and English Tutoring

MARIPOSA — November 2, 2026. Mariposa County Library lists free one-on-one adult literacy assistance, including English-language improvement and help with reading for everyday life and career goals.

What participants can study

The county describes tutoring for reading, high-school equivalency preparation, computer skills and U.S. citizenship study. The program also offers English as a Second Language support, subject to available tutors and schedules.

Program eligibility

The library says its adult literacy service accepts people aged 16 and older who are not enrolled in high school elsewhere. The service is free, but meeting times must be arranged, so a walk-in is not a guaranteed immediate one-to-one appointment.

How to enroll

Call the library at 209-966-2140 or email literacy@mariposacounty.org to discuss goals and available arrangements. Residents considering school or job applications should ask about the specific resources that suit their needs.
